The Consortium of Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (FUB)- Italy, Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH)-Sweden and  University of Kaiserslautern (UNKL)-Germany, offer to EU and NON-EU students scholarships and contribution to tuition fees  to participate to the European Master Course in Software Engineering (EMSE) 2013-2015 edition.

EMSE is a two year (120 ECTS credits) Joint Masters Programme, completely taught in English, that aims at training students in emerging research domains that shape the future of Software Engineering. Students will prepared for industry and research carriers as PhD programmes. After completing the EMSE studies the student will have gained expertise, competence, and practical skills on software management and quality, innovation and creativity, software process and product standards, social and economic market of IT, and teamwork.

The international dimension of the Masters Course guarantees that students familiarise with different educational methods and a multicultures. Since 2006 EMSE has been funded by the Erasmus Mundus Programme. However, the course has therefore been awarded by the European Commission/EACEA with the Erasmus Mundus Brand Name (EMBN) by which it commits itself to maintain the requirements and level of excellence expected from an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course.

Program

The program foresees a mobility period: students choose 2 out of the 3 universities and spend one year of their master study in each university (50% of ECTS in each institution).

Project, internship and thesis work will be carried out at the second university and will be jointly supervised and evaluated by two supervisors, one from each university visited. The EMSE curriculum consists of core topics, specificities, a project, and a master thesis and cover a wide range of topics, such as software process management, verification and validation, software design, and requirements engineering, and a pool of specificities like software quality, distributed systems and development, open source software, and agile methods.

To improve trading-off theory and practice, to enforce a seamless synergy between the industrial and academic stakeholder and to help students’ employability, the curriculum includes a compulsory Internship Program.
Successfully Students get a double degree from the two visited  universities
