Hilti provides leading-edge technology to the global construction industry. Hilti products, systems and services offer the construction professional innovative solutions with outstanding added value. The headquarters of the Hilti Group are in Schaan in the Principality of Liechtenstein. Some 21,000 employees, in more than 120 countries around the world, enthuse their customers and build a better future. The corporate culture is founded on integrity, courage, teamwork and commitment. Hilti excels through outstanding innovation, top quality, direct customer relations and effective marketing. Two-thirds of the employees work directly for the customer in sales organizations and in engineering, which means a total of more than 200,000 customer contacts every day. Hilti has its own production plants as well as research and development centers in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Methods of communication and collaboration are constantly evolving. Ten years ago, team members would share documents via e-mail or internal mail. Now, team members easily work with shared documents in online collaboration rooms and virtual workplaces – collaboration can take place anytime, anywhere.

That is why Hilti wants to know how young people envision the future communication and collaboration between Hilti and customers as well as within Hilti. Students should think about historical trends and recent market developments in order to imagine future communication and collaboration processes, software or hardware that will enable us to create more outstanding added value.

Help them with the following topics and answer questions like:

Communicating and Collaborating with the customers:

  • How will future communication processes between Hilti and our customers look like?
  • What is the role of social software (e.g., Facebook or Yammer) in the future working life of Hilti employees and customers?
  • How can innovative technologies be used for collaboration (e.g., mobile or wearable technologies like mobile apps or Google Glass)?

Communicating and Collaborating within Hilti:

  • How will future communication processes within different global Hilti functions look like?
  • What is the role of online office suites (e.g., Office 365), cloud computing or social software (e.g., Yammer) in the Hilti internal communication and collaboration?

And that‘s not all! They’re looking forward to seeing which additional questions you will identify and address through your submissions. Hilti will award the most innovative ideas with great prizes.

Young professionals and students from universities and universities of applied science, from IT, business, engineering and all other disciplines are welcome. Neither programming skills nor detailed technical knowledge concerning the construction industry is necessarily required to participate.
